Elle is our oldest daughter and has been sharing a room with Cameron, our middle daughter, since she was 4 and Cam was 2. Elle recently started asking for her own room. She was really wanting privacy, and was getting tired of her little sisters going through her “private things”. We decided that since Brady was old enough for a big bed, we would change over the “baby room” (Brady’s) into a big girl room makeover for Elle as a part of her birthday gift. The timing was perfect, being in quarantine, it made her birthday a little extra special this year.
We decided on a trundle day bed for Elle (she called it a couch bed), found a new rug at Home Goods (picked up before quarantine), and she helped pick out a temporary wallpaper from Tempaper.
The bed took about 2hrs for me to put together and the wallpaper took about 4hrs in total for me to install. I followed the steps on the Tempaper site, as well as tips from other bloggers who have used this paper in the past. See here for the Nesting with Grace guide, she has great tips. Overall it was not a bad project! I definitely would do it again.
It’s still a work in progress but here’s the first complete corner. We’re waiting on a desk and some shelving. More to come…
