We had a nice, quiet Thanksgiving. Since we couldn’t go to MA to be with Joe’s family, we hosted at our house for my parents and my sister & brother in law (they live down the street now!) Joe smoked a turkey, my mom roasted one with stuffing and made mashed potatoes and green beans. My sister made a few apps, a pomegranate margarita, & pecan pie. I made Joe’s family recipe of Swedish meatballs (an app), a turkey charcuterie platter, pumpkin pie, and chocolate sauce for dessert (another special recipe that Joe’s family has on holidays).
I loved our table settings and wanted to save photos for inspiration for next year. We do hope to host again! I got the chargers at Michaels and last minute (morning of Thanksgiving) decided to spray paint them dark charcoal to give the table some dimension. We used my family’s vintage China plates and gold silverware. I tied the napkins in knots to make it feel a bit more casual.
